Specialist installers of Renewable Technologies in East Anglia

Renewable energy is generated from natural resources such as the water, wind and the sun, using technology which ensures that the energy stores are naturally replenished.

The wide variety of renewable technologies available technology (also called micro generation and low-carbon technology) means that you can generate your own energy rather than buying it all from suppliers.

The most common renewable technologies on the marketplace include those that generate electricity (solar PV panels) or heat and hot water (heat pumps, biomass and solar thermal panels).

Cornerstone has a strong track record of installing a wide range of renewable technologies in both domestic and commercial premises. We offer an end to end service, from initial feasibility studies to supporting customers through the process of applying for government funding and organising servicing and maintenance packages.

Renewable energy installations are increasingly popular and can offer many benefits to the customer, as well as to the local economy and national carbon emissions targets. The key benefits of installing a renewable technology include:

Often the cheapest option for off-gas properties

In some cases you can generate income by selling back surplus energy

Reduction in your dependence on non-renewable energy

Increases the value of your property

As with all energy efficiency upgrades, it is important to first maximise energy efficiency of your property by installing insulation and draught proofing where possible.

The technology you select will depend on whether your priority is saving money or reducing your carbon footprint; if you are looking to replace an existing boiler or central heating system, for example, a biomass or heat pump solution may be an attractive and cost effective option.

A key consideration for solar panels, whether intended to generate heat and hot water or electricity, is the way your roof faces. In addition, significant space inside and outside is required to accommodate the installation of solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps.

The Energy Saving Trust has a useful Renewables Selector tool that provides advice on the most appropriate solution for your property. Alternatively, contact Cornerstone for a no-obligation discussion of your options.

Cornerstone has installed a range of renewable technologies in domestic properties as well as small businesses, offices and new build developments.

The potential savings from renewables vary depending on your existing system and the technology you select, but can be significant.

There are also a number of financial incentives available for home and business owners who want to improve the energy efficiency of their building, or generate their own renewable heat or electricity.

These include the Feed-In Tariff (FIT), which aims to encourage the uptake of a range of small-scale renewable and low-carbon electricity generation technologies and is paid to the owners of technologies including solar PV panels.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) aims to help the UK to meet its renewable energy and carbon reduction targets. It is paid for both domestic and commercial installations of technologies including   biomass boilers, heat pumps and solar thermal.

For more information on these financial incentives, contact us today or view our Funding page.

“Cornerstone is the company who go the extra mile. Installing solar panels on two buildings simultaneously in August 2015 went without a hitch. Both premises were fully operational throughout and the staff were very professional. The installation was under constant supervision by their Project Manager which meant that we could continue business without a worry. The support did not stop there, the paperwork and registration were handled for us. All in all we are very satisfied with the whole project and would not hesitate in recommending Cornerstone for all your installation requirements.”

Mr C, Business Owner, Norfolk

“I’ve called all the residents you’ve completed installs on at Centre Drive. The feedback has been fantastic! Polite, courteous, beyond the call of duty, tidy, professional, amazing communication, extremely neat, hardworking - these are some of the responses I’ve had. Great praise for all your project / team managers too."

Kayleigh Maguire, Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Officer, East Cambridgeshire District Council

“We are very pleased with the plumbing and energy efficiency works provided by Cornerstone for our Park Lane development. Their plumbers and engineers were hard working and highly skilled and have helped us to create some unique high specification homes. The project was very well managed, especially given the complex and diverse range of measures that Cornerstone installed; it was a great fit for us to be able to work with a single contractor that could offer the full range of plumbing, electrical and insulation services. We hope to work with Cornerstone again on similar projects in the near future."

Robert Walton, Director, R2 Developments

"I would like to thank you and the team at Cornerstone for the kindness and respect shown to my mother. She is 84 years of age and doesn't find any new process easy, particularly when work is being carried out around her home. As a daughter who lives 150 miles away in Hampshire, I would like to thank your team for communicating with me and 'keeping my in the loop' about the process and schedule of work."
